Rockwool comes in a range of sizes from propagation cubes to large slabs and even a granulated product. Rockwoolis manufactured by melting basaltic rock and spinning this molten mix into thin fibers which are then cooled by a stream of air.
A sterile soilless mix is made from organic components such as peat, inert minerals or some combination of ingredients. These quality potting mixes and amendments will:
• Provide a place for root structure to develop • Give hydroponically-delivered nutrients maximum root exposure • Allow plenty of air space for healthy root structure • Accelerate the growth of nutrient-absorbing root hair
Some of the most widely used growing media's include Rockwool, Lightweight Expanded Clay Aggregate (called, Hydrocorn or GrowRock), Coconut Fiber/Coconut chips, and Perlite or Vermiculite.
Our wide selection of growing mediums allows you to choose what’s best for your particular plants — whether tomatoes, orchids or herbs — and growing style. Not sure? Give us a call and talk to an expert.
